Media Sucks

recently ive been thinking a lot about the movies, shows, music and other froms of media that are out there nd how bad stuff portrayed through them are. if someone 20 years ago watched basically any show from the modern day they would be completely shocked. some people say its not that bad, well that because its what you are used to. the fact that you have become comfortable with it doent make it right. and im not just talking about language and stuff, but sexual stuff. even on tv. they keep pushing for stuff just to get the shows higher ratings and its really saddening. people care more about making some extra cash than having morals. talk about selling your soul. there is a show i watch called American Horror Story and it is an amazing show, but for the first few episodes it was very... well. you can figure it out. im glad to say its gotten a lot better, but i still cant believe what they did. there are curtan things i see or hear on tv that cause me to just turn off the tv and do something else. some things are just unnessesary. everyone wonders why the world is such a bad place, just look at what has been fed to us by our society? i guess we are what we eat after all.

YouTube- slenderman #2

so. i have watched the entire collection of videos on this topic by MarbleHornet on youtube. they actualy werent half bad. they are comparable to paranormal activity with their "found footage" style of filming. the graphics were pretty good even thogh there were very little of them. so far its not even really about the slenderman character. he is shown but it is about one guy named alex who goes crazy or something and multiple times when given the option to run he chose not to. so hes obviosly part of the whole slenderman problem or he knows something the others dont. check it out if you want to i guess. they dont pick up speed until #15ish. there is a total of 52 videos at the moment. and they are still making more. tonight i might watch other groups versions of it to see if it gets more into the actual story of slenderman rather than a few appearances by him.

YouTube- slenderman

so i was just told about these videos on youtube called slenderman. apperently its one of the more recent urban legends. its like a freddy kruger character who kidnaps people in their dreams. its supposedly super tall and "slender" and wears a black suit. it also doesnt have a face or nis missing face features like a nose (voldemort)lol. or eyes. its suposed to be super scary or something but i dont see how it can be. it was created in 2009 on some website as a students hw to create an urban legend. haha. it was just the class favorite and for no reason whatso ever it got super popular and now people haven made videos about it. oh well. ill see if they are scary or whatever and ill come back to you on that.

New Band

i recently discovered or actulay rediscovered a band called The Bunny The Bear. they are a metal band i guess. they are also incognito or however you spell that. you can figure out what i mean. youre all smart. i guess. haha. anyway, they guy in the bunny mask plays piano in some of the songs and he is the screamer. for being a new band the screaming is actualy really good. those opf you who dont listen to this kind of music are probably thinking, "how can someone be good at screaming?" well. you can be. there are different types and styles. everyone who can actualy scream has a different sound. then the guy in the bear mask sings. really high. like.... wow. haha. :P most girls probably cant hit those notes... but its not bad at all. it fits in really well with the electronic stuff they have. not a lot of fancy guitar or drums or anything but they just have a good sound in my opinion. imm gunna post a few of their videos so you guys can see my favorite songs and comment on what you think, if the comment thing is working now.

this song is called Aisle

this song is called C'est Pas Si Loin

Crossfade Lyrics

like i think i said earlier, i dont just like music for the sound. i like it for the creativity and lyrical content. i like the message behind it and how it speaks to me. recently, since i went to Epicenter in Irvine, i have gotten into the band Crossfade. i really like their sound, lyrics and everything. they are a younger band and they are yet to use language. i hoping it stays that way. i find cussing in music to be reaqlly unnessesary. i do have a lot of songs on my ipod with fowl language, but i dont listen to those songs because they have language. that just happens to be there. anyway. crossfade has a lot of good lyrics. not just a few good lines, but the entire song is very well written. songs such as colors and cold would be examples. although they may not be as good as some lyrics such as Stone Sour (becaquse corey taylor is amazing), they are still young and developing so some good things should come from the future of their musical carrers. Check them out on facebook!

Broken Pieces (with lyrics)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HLFqIzWh-zk

Forget about the Lyrics in the video, some of them are wrong. the real ones are posted below.
enjoy (:  or not. its your choice

Broken Pieces- Apocalyptica

Too late - this is not the answer
I need to pack in
I can't pull your heart together with just my voice alone
A thousand shards of glass I came to meet you in
You cut the peace out of me

And as you ripped it all apart,
That's when I turned to watch you
And as the light went on you went dark
I saw you turn to shadow
If you would salvage some part of you that once new love
But I'm loosing this
And I'm loosing you

And oh I've gotta turn and run
From the faces that you never see
Oh I've gotta save my blood
From all you've broken
And pack up these pieces of me

It's too late now to stop the process
This was your choice - you let it in
This double life you live is eating you up from within
A thousand shards of glass you pushed beneath my skin
And left me lying here to bleed

And as you showed me your scars
I only held you closer
But as the light in you went dark I saw you turn over
I wanted always to be there for you and close to you
But I'm loosing this
And I'm loosing you

And oh I've gotta turn and run
From the faces that you never see
Oh I've gotta save my blood
From all you've broken
And pack up these pieces of me

Maybe without me
You'll return to all the beauty I once knew
But I can't stay to see how the sight of me brings that madness back to you...

These broken pieces of me
These broken pieces of me

And oh I've gotta turn and run
From the faces that you never see
Oh I've gotta save my blood
From all you've broken
And pack up these pieces of me

Internet Radio

well then. i got home today and wanted to listen to some slacker radio, which in my opinion is far superior to pandora. pandora has a stupid time limit for listening that i always end up going over... but slacker radio was down today... at least on my cpmputer, so i was forced to use pandora. i noticed they changed things around so that you now have access to lyrics and are able to customize stations with multiple artists, much like slacker. they finally are stepping up their game, but are yet to beat out slacker. with slacker you can customize your stations so much more. its amazing.

as for the videos i post, i may not always have much to say about them because i would like to hear some other peoples opinions on the music i play. both for lyrical content and just if you like the style or not. (easy points for comments)   :D  just a few minutes of your time to watch youtube and a few sentences.

Epicenter 2011

this past weekend i went to a concert with tj harris in irvine california. it was called epicenter and it was amazing. there was a small stage where bands played from eleven until four, then the large stage was from four until around ten/eleven. on the small stage the bands that played were drive a, crossfade, middle class rut, red light king, asking alexandria, and pod. on the large stage was red, everlast, skillet, puddle of mudd, buck cherry, five finger death punch, papa roach, staind, and limp bizkit. they were all good live, with the exception of middle class rut, and puddle of mudd. if you like those bands stick to the studio version of their music. seriously. they sucked live. haha. my favorite bands from the concert were probably crossfade, papa roach, asking alexandria, skillet, and staind. i know thats a big list but they were all so good, they sounded exactly like they do studio and it was amazing. the best show out of those bands was by far ffdp. they got the crowd going like no other. they got a moshpit started in the theater and security was pulling people out of the concert and in the middle of the song bad company the lead singer stoped all of the music and started talking to the security people and how all of those kids payed hard earned money to get in the show, he also said that if  they didnt let this one girl go he was going to quit singing right then and there. this really got the crowd going and when they let the girl go they started the music back up again. they are definatly a band to see in concert if you like there style of music. one thing i found odd about the lead singer of staind was that he wasnt much of a showman. he is an amazing singer and he can scream, but he was very... lethargic. he just stood infront of his mic and didnt do much. towards the end of their show he got a little more into it. but at the begining, not so much. but either way its a great concert.
im typing this from my phone and for some reason it wont let me use caps or any special characters like numbers or question marks. oh well.

introduction (take 2)

hey, im jordan helus. my introduction freaked out and was deleted so im making another. but ill keep this one short and not so sweet, because i suck at typing. My blog is about forms of multimedia from music to movies to infinity and beyond. ill ramble on about tv shows i have been watching, movies i have seen, and music i have heard. i especialy love horror movies, but i probably wont talk about them to much in order to keep thing grace appropriate... :/  as for music i really love everything except for rap. with the exception of eminem. i will most frequently post about metal because thats what i am into at the moment, and the flight of the conchords because they are hilarious. anyway... off to write my essay... :/
